Meet Dr. McKee

Dr. Rachel McKee (she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to supporting you, your child, and your family. She listens carefully and works to fully understand the nature of your concerns. She collaboratively develops an individualized plan that is designed to highlight strengths while promoting the development of valuable skills which can be utilized throughout the life span.

Some of the most common concerns Dr. McKee helps address include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, school performance, emotional dysregulation, social challenges, disruptive behavior, and difficulties related to ADHD and executive dysfunction. Dr. McKee utilizes a neurodivergent-affirming approach to assessment and therapy that recognizes and respects the diversity of neurological experiences among individuals. Her approach acknowledges that everyone processes and experiences information differently, and that these differences are not inherently problematic or pathological.

Dr. McKee earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Louisiana State University. Her education and training focused on the assessment and treatment of behavioral and academic concerns of children, teens, and young adults. She utilizes this training to ensure that you and your child are supported in all endeavors. She works with school districts, hospitals, families, service providers and one-on-one with individuals and families to ensure they are adequately supported so they can truly shine!

Outside of the office, Dr. McKee enjoys spending time with her family. Some of her favorite activities include bike rides, kayaking, arts and crafts, reading, and exploring the community.
Ample time in each session is spent building and maintaining relationships with clients and families so that they feel truly comfortable and look forward to coming back. Dr. McKee’s clients consistently speak highly of her ability to form a warm, genuine connection with their children. Her evidence-based approach to assessment and therapy is flexible and recommendations are adapted to meet unique needs. In therapy with children and teens, Dr. McKee uses a combination of discussion, problem-solving, parental involvement, and play to help children better understand their thoughts and emotions, decrease problem behaviors, adapt to difficult circumstances, navigate rocky peer relationships, and problem-solve and persevere in the face of challenges.
